The encounter with the Atlas is an existential experience. It is a landscape in which one loses all sense of scale, relation and time and which, with its sparseness and vastness, triggers an almost transcendental feeling. The few human settlements are laboriously wrested from the mountains and are little more than traces in this absolute landscape. Atlas is a photographic essay about this encounter.

Die Begegnung mit dem Atlas ist ein existenzielles Erlebnis. Es ist eine Landschaft, in der man jedes Gefühl für Maßstäbe, Relationen und Zeit verliert und die mit ihrer Kargheit und Weite ein nahezu transzendentales Gefühl auslöst. Die wenigen menschlichen Besiedelungen werden dem Gebirge mühsam abgerungen und sind kaum mehr als Spuren in dieser absoluten Landschaft. Atlas ist ein photographischer Essay über diese Begegnung.
